i just can't kick the habit...

i woke up last night around 4:30 am after what i'd call a nightmare. you see friends, i've gained 8 lbs already. now let me just say, for those of you who know me well, i'm not upset that i'm gaining weight. not at all - i know that i have a baby in my belly - i am growing our baby. weight is not an issue. that said; all the books i've read say i should be gaining 2-5 lbs in the first trimester. not 8lbs.

well... i know why this is happening to me. after my mega weight loss (72 lbs off since june 2007! whooo hooo!) i swore off processed carbs and junk food. then i got knocked up and then morning sickness reared it's ugly head. the only thing the belly doesn't throw back up is crap food. and therefore... i've been giving it what it wants. this consists of a lot of top ramen, mac and cheese and 100,000 bean burritos. i've been feeling especially guilty about this just recently as i've watched the scale go up 8lbs in my first tri... ugh.

ok - back to my nightmare. i dreamt that i was in labor. i mean hard labor. what seemed (in this dream) for HOURS i finally gave birth to the baby. as soon as the baby was completely out and in the doctors arms - he looked at me and said, "ummm, mckenzie... you must have eaten a lot of bean burritos. i warned you about this." and the nurse handed the baby to kevin who looked at me and said, "damn! i told you not to eat so many of those damn things!" then i got a glance at my precious babe. my sweet precious babe was a two year old size hispanic baby.

the funniest part about this was no one - our doctor included - ever mentioned the fact that kevin and i conceiving a hispanic baby is IMPOSSIBLE. everyone just attributed the baby's RACE to my bean burrito intake.

ok - so i get it. for the love... i'm going to really put some effort into stopping, ok no... slowing my burrito intake down.

he is cute tho, right? :)
